Stone UMPC: Nanobook Design with Touchscreen & Windows XP Tablet

Another UMPC based on the Via Nanobook UMD reference is going to make it to the UK ultra portable scene. Made by Stone Computers, the Stone UMPC was recently showcased in BETT 2008, an educational information and communications technology event in London, UK. The specifications of Stone UMPC suggest that it is going to cost more in the range of Packard Bell Easynote XS than Everex Cloudbook.

The following is a list of Stone UMPC features / specifications that differs from the standard Cloudbook.

  • 1 GB RAM
  • 40 GB Hard Disk Drive
  • Windows XP Tablet Edition
  • Touch Screen LCD Panel
  • Modular Docking Bay for Webcam, Bluetooth VoIP Phone, GPRC etc
