gOS 2.0 Rocket Reviews and Downloads

by atticus ~ January 16, 2008

gOS is a Linux Distribution created by ‘A Good OS Company’. This probably gives you a good hint as to why the name of the operation system is gOS. Some argued that the alphabet g should stand for Google instead, which seems reasonable looking at how gOS is being advertised by the company. Described as “a new, friendly OS designed to just work out of the box with Google applications online”, the gOS features numerous Google applications including Google Mail, Google News, Google Calendar, Google Maps, Google Docs, Google Products, Youtube and Blogger.

During the recent 2008 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), version 2.0 of gOS was released. Also named gOS Rocket, this is the operating system of choice in Cloudbook. Reviews and screenshots of gOS Rocket have appeared in some review sites and I have compiled a list of them for your reading pleasure.

For folks who cannot wait to get a feel of the Cloudbook, you may wish to download a copy of gOS from gOS website. You can even choose to download the gOS virtual appliance in order to run gOS on Windows and Mac. Have fun!
