Taiwanese website, My Mobile Life, has managed get its hands on the touch screen version of Everex Cloudbook CE1200V. According to the author, he borrowed the UMPC from his U.S. based friend who was back in Taiwan for the elections. From the photos he posted, the Everex Cloudbook CE260 looks like a pre-production unit with a hastily pasted Everex label. Anyway, I do not think it will still be called Cloudbook CE260 when it’s released. How about Devbook or CE1200T?

Except for a smaller 512Mb RAM, the specifications of Cloudbook CE260 appear to be similar to previously announced iDOT CE260. Cloudbook CE260 comes with a Bluetooth VoIP handset and has a touchpad that’s located below the keyboard.

Besides having plenty of photos and videos, My Mobile Life did some benchmarking on the mini laptop. Some tests done included PC Wizard 2008, Super Pi, FDBench and HD Tune. The author found that its performance is much better than Kohjinsha SA and on par with Kohjinsha SH8.
The author also touched on a useful feature found in Everex Cloudbook - the ability to change the screen resolution beyond the native 800×480. Can Asus Eee PC do this?

Screen resolution at 800×480

Screen resolution at 1000×600
Finally, the author talked about how easy it’s to access the hard disk and dicussed the possibility of adding a converter to replace the 1.8″ HDD with SSD.
