Everex Cloudbook UMPC NOT Shipping to Europe, Chile, Singapore and Malaysia

by atticus ~ January 25, 2008

According to ZaReason, while they can ship other ZaReason systems to Europe, Chile, Singapore and Malaysia, they are unable to do so for Everex Cloudbook. My guess is that it is probably due to some arrangement between Everex and Via. Packard Bell Easynote XS and other Nanobook variants are already available in some European and Asian countries. Looks like Via has allocated each company a piece of the world?

Anyhow, Everex Cloudbook is still available in US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. I am sure enthusiasts in other countries will know how to get hold of an unit if they really want it.

Update: Exchanged a few correspondences with ZaReason and they confirmed that Everex Cloudbook will not be available in Europe, Chile, Singapore, Malaysia and Africa. The availability is limited because of territorial agreement between Everex and Packard Bell. To find out if they ship to your country, simply send ZaReason an enquiry. If possible, do inform us of the result so that we can update the list of countries. Thanks!

Sent an email enquiry to ZaReason. Unfortunately, I was rather bluntly informed that they do not ship to the Philippines. Such a pity… loved the concept and I’m a great fan of Linux ( Ubuntu ) too.

In any case, I’ll just have to make do with what we have available. Not that we live in the stone age…

Unknown to many… my little town produces all the integrated circuits for Nokia phones worldwide and most of the integrated circuits used in all Sony-Ericsson phones worldwide. If you watched the last 2 Gulf Wars and ever wondered about the missiles, their control systems and navigational equipment… well, they were made here too ( but for the explosives ). As for Toshiba… yes, it’s a Japanese company, but if you have one… chances are, they were made here as well.

In any case, I would’ve appreciated a more explanatory response.
And to ZaReason: Respectfully, I don’t live in Timbuctoo.
Love your company, concept and support for LINUX and wish you
all the BEST in your future endeavours.
