I’m sorry to hear all those bad experiences that most astone users have experienced. My husband bought his astone unit last nov2008. It worked smoothly for several months but around it’s 9th month, it went down. So we had it fixed(it was still in it’s warranty period) then it worked again. After a few weeks, lines appeared on its screen so we had it fixed again. When we got it back, just a few days it broke down again. My husband was infuriated so I called the PC shop where we bought it and I asked for a refund. At first they just wanted to fix it AGAIN. I got irritated so I asked for the distributor’s number and there I talked to their technical support people. They offered to fix it but I stood firm to ask for the refund. They offered to give me a new unit but then I threatened them that we’d report them(the distributor and the pc shop) to the DTI. A few days after I received a call that they would give the refund I was asking for. We got the full amount we paid for.
To everyone who’s experiencing problems with their astone units, and are still under the warranty period, I STRONGLY SUGGEST that you ask for a refund. Even if you have it fixed, the problems will not cease. Even the staff from the pc shop admitted that a lot of their clients have the same bad experiences.

We bought last February 11, 2009 from Permanent Computer Corner with office address at V-346 3/F V. Mall Shopping Center, Greenhills, San Juan, Metro Manila.Astone UMPC with a 7 days outright replacement and 12 months warranty on parts and services.Unfortunately, after using the Astone UMPC for a month, the laptop that I have bought together with 10 of my officemates are not functioning well and us of this date more laptops have been returned to Permanent Computer Corner last week. I have returned my laptop 3 times at PC Corner and until now it is still for repair. No actions have been done..
