3 Things to Take Note When Preordering Everex Cloudbook from ZaReason.com

by atticus ~ January 27, 2008

Some points to take note to avoid misunderstanding and disappointment!

1) Availability Delayed Until Late February

In case you have not been following the news, Everex recently announced that release of its Cloudbook had been delayed to late February. Therefore, even if you preorder, the earliest you will receive the Cloudbook is late February, or when it becomes available.

2) Not all Countries are Equal

Because of territorial agreements between Everex and Packard Bell, Cloudbook will not ship to some countries. Currently, the list of excluded continents/countries are Europe, Chile, Malaysia, Singapore and Africa. Verify your country with ZaReason.com before ordering. Chances are if you can find Packard Bell Easynote XS selling in your country, ZaReason.com would not ship Everex Cloudbook to you.

3) Immediate Payment for Preorder

I am not sure if this is standard practice but ZaReason.com will process your credit card immediately after placing an order for Everex Cloudbook. Apparently, they are trying to implement a US$25 preorder charge instead. The following is taken from ZaReason.com sales page:

Credit Cards will be processed immediately for Preorders. We are working on getting preorders set at only a $25 charge, but until then, orders are fully processed. This is done for two reasons: 1. Processing your preorder transaction immediately allows us to validate your preorder reservation, reducing fraudulent transactions, allowing our honest customers their proper place in line for the item and 2. the bulk of our business revolves around custom systems that are built on a 48 hour turnaround. The site is built to process immediately so we can get our work done quickly. Thank you for your understanding.
